More weekend fun

We celebrated Jef's birthday this weekend with Ga & PaPa. Tyler really enjoyed helping daddy open his presents and then playing with his new lego train. It provided us with hours and hours of fun throughout the weekend.

Tyler also helped out a bit around the house this weekend with his tools. Here he is showing off his toolbox and fixing the dog door. Such a big helper!

Wildlife World Zoo

This past weekend, even though it was hot out, we took Ga & PaPa to the Wildlife World Zoo. We haven't been in a while and the changes they have made to the zoo made the drive worth the trip. Here are some highlights from the trip.

Too much fun

This is what happens after too much fun in the pool. We went swimming on Saturday morning and while I was getting lunch ready, Tyler fell asleep in his favorite chair. We put him down for a nap about 11:45 (without lunch) and as of 2:30 he is still sleeping. I guess all that under water swimming really takes it out of you. (sorry about not having any pants on, I wasn't really planning to take pictures)

Best Friends

Last Thursday and Friday Ally came to spend the day with us while her mom was working. Mom has to be at work at 6:00, so she dropped Ally off about 5:45 in the morning. When Tyler got up, he was excited to have a buddy to drink milk and watch TV with. Here they are very interested in their milk and watching Franklin. Tyler stayed pretty close to her all day and only bossed her around a few times.

Why Tyler always takes a nap...

Yesterday we were out and Tyler got down a little late for his nap. I put him down around 1:00, which really isn't that late for him. He had fallen asleep in the car so I knew he was tired and I thought he would go right back to sleep (usually does). So I still heard him after half and hour and went up there and he was reading books in his bed. I told him to lay down and take a nap and he said "Ok Mommy". Well I heard him off and on for the next hour. Finally about 2:30 I went in and got him up. He had not slept at all, but he was playing quietly in his bed. I still find it funny that he gets out of bed, gets whatever toy or book he wants and then gets back in to play.

So then later that evening about 6:30 is when the crying and the melt down started. He was so touchy and everything seemed to set him off. Needless to say we headed to bed a little early and he was out like a light. He may not think so, but he still needs his naps during the day and to be honest, so do I!!!

What not to do...

This is what happens when you stand on the front of the cart at Kohls and don't hang on tightly. Then mommy feels really really bad!

New Favorite

Tyler's new favorite thing to do in the car is listen to the soundtrack from the Cars movie. He just can't help singing along with the song "Life is a Highway" by Rascal Flats. Of course, this is the only song from the CD that he wants to listen to, so I hear it over and over and over and over.....

Peanut Butter Toast

Mmmm.... peanut butter toast for breakfast, sooooo good!!!!

Naptime, or lack there of....

Today I put Tyler down for his nap and went back downstairs like usual. A few minutes later I heard some noises coming from his room, which isn't unusual because he often reads or plays with a few cars before he goes off to sleep. However, after half an hour or so of this, I went up to investigate and discovered what he had been doing. When I asked him what happened, he simply said "My made a mess".
