Body Painting
This morning Tyler wanted to do some painting. I got out his water colors and let him go. He painted for a while and then I noticed that he was not painting on the paper anymore. When I asked him what he was doing, he said he was painting a picture for his baby (on his tummy).

Such a Big Boy
Tyler had his second check up with the dentist today. The first time we went they just looked around in his mouth and brushed his teeth a little with a tooth brush. This time however, it was like a real dental check up. He sat in the chair by himself and let them take x-rays of his teeth. Then he picked out a flavored tooth paste and they cleaned his teeth and flossed! He then let the dentist look in his mouth and count all his teeth. He has all his teeth except his 2 year molars, he will have all 20 when those come in. What a big boy! I was so surprised, but excited to see him sitting in the chair all by himself and he didn't seem worried a bit. They were really good with him and he enjoyed watching a movie (on the ceiling) while they cleaned his teeth. He even asked if he could stay when it was time to leave. I hope it is always this easy.

The Ups and Downs of Flying with a Toddler
Well we did make it to Florida yesterday after a very long day of traveling. I will admit it was quite a challenge though (not as easy as the last time we flew back in May). Tyler was not in the mood to get dressed and go to the airport yesterday morning and things didn't get much better once we finally got there. By then, he was a little hyper and not interested in listening or staying with Mommy at all. I did get the privilege of chasing him through the terminal, not once but TWICE!! We did finally go for a little walk and found a very small play area for him to spend some time in. The actual flying was better because we had movies to watch. The funny thing about putting ear phones on a toddler and turning on a movie is they talk (and sing) really, really LOUD.
The Ups and Downs of a 2 hour layover in Dallas:
Up - nice big kid's play area
Down - when it was time to leave so mommy could find the next gate
Up - we got to ride the skyline (train to Tyler) between terminals
Down - we had to get off the skyline
Up - finally made it all the way to our new gate
Down - the gate was changed (close to where we just came from)
Our second flight went fairly well and Tyler did finally fall asleep for a short while. All in all, we got here safely and at least I know what my challenges are for our return flight.

Florida, here we come...
Tyler and I are off to Florida tomorrow. I hope I have packed all the essentials for the flight - cars, books, crayons, movies and of course Mack and McQueen!! We have a 2 hour lay over in Dallas, which should allow us enough time for potty, lunch and finding the new gate.
Wish me luck and stay tuned for pictures from our trip!
