Glad to be home

I am finally back home and hopefully here to stay for a while. Tyler greeted me at the door with hugs and kisses. He asked if he could give me kisses so he didn't hurt my owie. I, of course, started crying. What a sweetie he is and even at 2 1/2 he understands that he has to be careful and not jump on mommy until I feel better. We looked at pictures from the hospital and he calls his brother "Baby Bastin". He asked about his owies and I tried to explain what he saw as much as possible. It is amazing what they understand even at a young age. I am hoping this transition will be a little smoother if we involve him in what is going on and answer his questions as best we can.

It has been a rough couple of days, but we have much to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Wecome Sebastian Edward Fox

Sebastian made his arrival on Saturday November 21, 2009, a few weeks earlier than planed. He weighed in at 1lb, 9oz and 12 inches long. He will be staying in the NICU at Scottsdale Shea Hospital for the next few months while he gains some strength and put on a few pounds. You can follow his progress here or at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/sebastianfox. At Caring Bridge you can view photos, read journal entries with his progress and leave your comments in the guest book.

Moo Moo Palooza

Tyler on the big tractor

Tyler's first pony ride!

Tyler and his friend Josh on the tractor

Today we met some friends at Superstition Farms for Moo Moo Palooza. Although it was very hot, crowded and dusty, we still had a good time. Tyler got to feed some goats, ride a pony, see some cows and play a few games. We had a great time!

Picnic

The other night Tyler decided to have a picnic with his cars in his playhouse.

Notice how each car has its own plate and own food.

Both old Mater and young Mater are sharing some watermelon.

Baby steps

Tonight we made huge progress toward eating new food. Tyler has been a very picky eater and we have tried everything to get him to try something new, with usually no success. Even the bribe of cookies and treats after dinner doesn't make a difference. Tonight however, he made a step in the right direction. He actually ate about 1/4 of a piece of grilled chicken (no nuggets), 1 carrot and a bite of broccoli and cheese rice. He actually said the chicken was good and when he took a bite of the rice, he said "Mmm, cheesey". It may not seem like much, but for Tyler it was huge. He did get to eat his cookie tonight.

Hopefully we will have the same success tomorrow night.

back seat driver

This morning we were headed to a friends house for a playdate when Tyler decided to help me out with the driving. We were driving behind a big cement truck on a one lane road and going fairly slow because of construction when Tyler says "Go around Mommy, he too slow". There was no where to go though because there was only one lane. When we finally got to a spot where another lane opened up, I went around the truck and as I did Tyler says "That's it Mommy". Only 2 1/2 and already a back seat driver!

Soccer Tots

We had our first soccer tots session today. It was a lot of fun and Tyler did pretty well for his first class in a long time. As was last time, his favorite part of class was kicking over the cones. This exercise is for the kids to work on their "big" kicks. I think Tyler just like running and kicking things over.

Trick or Treat

I tried to get the whole gang. It is very hard to get them all to look at the same time. This was the best I could do.

Had to get one of Mommy and Tyler

My pumpkin is soooo heavy!!

I let Tyler pick one thing after Trick or Treating from his bag of goodies and of course he picked a pop pop, his favorite!!
