Flagstaff, Az

A few days ago I took the boys up north the Flagstaff, Az to escape the summer heat a little.  My sister joined us with her 3 boys and we had quite an adventure with 5 boys (all under the age of 5).  We did a little hiking, played at the park and enjoyed exploring nature.  We also spent one day at Out of Africa Wildlife Park in Camp Verde.  It was a little warm, but a great experience to see some animals up close.  We fed carrots to the giraffes, watched the Tigers splash in the water and even touched a giant snake!

If you've never spent a few nights with 5 little boys in a 2 bedroom condo away from home, you don't know what you're missing!!! (Then again, you can probably guess)

                                Lunch at the park

Trying to take a picture of all 5 boys... not an easy thing to do!

And yes, even with a broken arm, Sebastian wanted to ride the dinosaur!

Once again, trying to get a picture of all of them.  This was the best one too.

A few photos from our adventure at Out of Africa:

Tyler feeding the giraffe's a carrot.  They came right up to the tram and took it out of your hand.  Very cool!
At least the car ride home was peaceful!

First Fracture

Well, with two rambunctious boys in the house, it was bound to happen.  We ended up in urgent care yesterday with our first fractured bone.  Yesterday the boys decided to wrestle on the bed while I was in the shower.  They have been told many times not to do this, but of course that doesn't stop them.  Just as I was about to get out of the shower, I heard a loud thud and a scream.  Sure enough, Sebastian was on the floor beside the bed screaming.  After 30 min. of sitting with him and trying to calm him down, we knew something was seriously wrong.  I couldn't get him to use his left arm for anything.  We waiting a little while before going to Urgent Care just to see if it would get better over time.  We finally decided to go and after a series of x-rays, they determined that he had a humerus fracture.  The fracture is in the upper part of his shoulder just below the joint.  They put his arm in a sling for now and we will see an orthopedic specialist in the next few days.  He will most likely have the sling for 6-8 weeks.  That means no running, jumping, climbing or swimming for the next 6 weeks.  I think its going to be a very long 6 weeks!

4th of July

We finally made it out to see some fireworks this year with the boys.  The weather was beautiful on the 4th, so it was hard to resist.  We joined some friends at Central Christian Church in Gilbert for their Fire in the Sky show.  We had a great night and the boys really enjoyed their first live fireworks show!
