First Fracture

Well, with two rambunctious boys in the house, it was bound to happen.  We ended up in urgent care yesterday with our first fractured bone.  Yesterday the boys decided to wrestle on the bed while I was in the shower.  They have been told many times not to do this, but of course that doesn't stop them.  Just as I was about to get out of the shower, I heard a loud thud and a scream.  Sure enough, Sebastian was on the floor beside the bed screaming.  After 30 min. of sitting with him and trying to calm him down, we knew something was seriously wrong.  I couldn't get him to use his left arm for anything.  We waiting a little while before going to Urgent Care just to see if it would get better over time.  We finally decided to go and after a series of x-rays, they determined that he had a humerus fracture.  The fracture is in the upper part of his shoulder just below the joint.  They put his arm in a sling for now and we will see an orthopedic specialist in the next few days.  He will most likely have the sling for 6-8 weeks.  That means no running, jumping, climbing or swimming for the next 6 weeks.  I think its going to be a very long 6 weeks!

4th of July

We finally made it out to see some fireworks this year with the boys.  The weather was beautiful on the 4th, so it was hard to resist.  We joined some friends at Central Christian Church in Gilbert for their Fire in the Sky show.  We had a great night and the boys really enjoyed their first live fireworks show!

Fox Family

We haven't had a family photo taken since Sebastian was a baby, so I decided it was time.  A few weeks ago we meet a photographer that was recommended to me by a friend out at a place in East Mesa called Coons Bluff.  It was a little dusty, but we ended up with some great shots.

Out in the Country!

A few weeks ago I took Tyler and Sebastian to Mississippi to visit Gramma & PaPa.  Despite the heat and humidity, we had a great time!  Here are some highlights from our trip.

Well, there was a 4 wheeler and lots of space to ride, so we spent a lot of time doing just that!

This is a cool playground we found in town.  We went one evening after dinner and it wasn't too bad after the sun went down.

This is the view we had every morning.  I know it was a very rough visit as you can see, but we managed :)

Of course, when they weren't riding on the 4 wheeler, they were riding something else.  Here are Sebastian and PaPa on the tractor!

It was very warm, so we did what we could to stay cool.  So much fun!!!

We visited the Memphis Zoo and they had this really cool dinosaur exhibit.  The dinosaurs were animated and looked very real!

We even had a chance to do a little fishing.  Tyler was very excited until we actually got there and he realized that he would have to wait and be patient for the fish to bite his lines.  Needless to say, he wasn't a very patient waiter and he wasn't fond of the bugs either...... we didn't fish very long.

Mother's Day Flashback

Tyler has now finished Preschool and over the past 2 1/2 years we have participated in 3 Mother's Day parties at Little Light Preschool.  I thought it would be fun to compare pictures from the last 3 Mother's Day parties.  Look at how much he's grown!

Preschool Graduation!

Well, it's official..... Tyler is no longer a preschooler, he is now ready for Kindergarten.  Tyler had his graduation from Little Light Preschool on Monday night.  I was a little sad because it means he is growing up, but I was also very excited because it means he is growing up.  He is definitely ready for some new challenges and although I am a bit nervous about him going to Kindergarten, I do think he will do well and he will enjoy it.  Here are some photos from the big night.

Proud moment

Tyler is quickly becoming quite the expert Lego builder lately.  He has had his eye on some new Lego sets that he really wants.  We decided to make a star chart and he earns stars for doing things around the house.  Some days he earns quite a few and other days..... well, let's just say it look quite a while to reach his mark.  But, he finally got there and off we went to Target to get his reward.  He chose this Pirate of the Caribbean Lego set and put it together all by himself!  He was quite proud of his new creation and already looking forward to earning his next one.
