And the hip helpers are back...

For those of you who didn't get to see this look the first time, the Hot Pink hip helpers are back! Sebastian has been learning how to crawl over the past few weeks, although he has his own style. He has been using his right foot to push and then just drags his left leg along. The hip helpers are designed to keep his knees together so he is forced to crawl on both knees. These pants are quite expensive, so his therapist offered to let us borrow some that she had. The only problem.....they are hot pink! Oh well, if they do the trick, then it will be worth it! He hate to wear them by the way because he can't get his foot up the way he likes to when he crawls.

Here he is playing wit his brother's fire station.

This is another exercise to practice this week. Sitting on a stool (or something of that height) to work on balance and catching himself when he falls. This one makes him very nervous, but he did well for his first attempt.

Just crawlin around

Sebastian has been getting around quite well these days, although he has his own style. We are working on learning to crawl with both knees down, but you can see this works pretty well for him.

One more batting video

One more video of Tyler batting, this time from the front.

First T-ball game

This was at home just before we left for Tyler's first T-ball game. He was very excited!

The back of his shirt.

On the field. The kids all started out with a spot, but once the ball was hit, it one big pile of purple shirts.

Tyler getting ready for the ball.

Tyler's first time batting. He was a little confused when it was time to run.

Mother Nature's Farm

Earlier this week we joined our friends Joshua and his little brother Gavin at Mother Nature's Farm. It was a fun day of decorating pumpkins, hay mazes and hay rides.

This was Sebastian's first experience at a pumpkin patch. He was a little unsure of the whole thing.

The boys with their pumpkins.

The straw was also a new experience for Sebastian. He was more interested in trying to eat it than anything else.

T-ball

Tyler had his first T-ball practice tonight. He was very excited to go and all the kids did great considering it was their first practice. The kids practiced throwing the ball to each other and then batting and running the bases. It was pretty cute how most of them didn't know which base to run to. Tyler did hit the ball a few times and when it was time to run, he ran over to the side and grabbed his glove before he ran to 1st base. It was very cute, we obviously have a few things to practice at home before next week.

Sorry about not having any pictures, someone forgot to bring the camera. I'll be sure to bring it next time.

10 Month update

Sebastian had a visit with the pulmonologist today so I thought it would be a good time to update his stats. (Visit went well by the way, nothing new to report)

weight: 14lbs, 1oz
height: 26 in.
head: no idea ??

What's new with Sebastian lately??
* He had his first tooth pop through last weekend (bottom left). Yeah, because we were not enjoying all the fussiness. Let's hope there is a little break before we see another one.
* He is really moving now, although I can't really call it crawling. It is a cross between a bear walk and a three legged scoot (if you can picture that). It is quite amusing to watch though. I have a feeling he will figure the crawl out any day now though, and then there's no turning back!
* Still babbling up a storm, mostly with dada and blowing raspberries.
* He has tried a variety of foods lately and boy does he like to eat! I haven't found a food he doesn't like yet and I'm hoping it stays that way.

A new way to crawl...

Sebastian is now 10 months old and getting bigger and stronger everyday. He is beginning to test his boundries and move a lot. He is not crawling yet, although he is testing out this new way of moving on his hands and toes.

Here is Sebastian's new "crawl". He can't really move forward this way, but he does rock back and forth. We are working with him to get his knees down on the ground so he can move forward. It is quite amusing to watch though....

Busy Weekend

We had quite a busy few days this past weekend. Friday night was Science Night at Tyler's preschool. We all went and it was a lot of fun for the kids. There were lots of little science experiments for the kids to try on their own and a few more complicated ones for the parents to help with. Some of Tyler's favorites were the erupting volcano, the mentos & diet coke geyser, and of course the rocket launcher!! We did end up spending a lot of time at the rocket launcher. The kids made rockets out of construction paper and then launched them through the parking lot. We are looking forward to next year's Science Night as well, although maybe next year it won't be on our anniversary.

On Saturday we were invited by Trey and his mommy Amanda to see our first live concert! Here are the boys waiting in line for Nick Jr.'s Storytime Live!!! I wasn't able to get any pictures inside because no cameras were allowed. We got to see 4 short stories performed by Kai-Lan, the Wonder Pets, The Backyardigans & Dora!! Thanks Amanda & Trey for inviting us to come along.

Almost mobile

Sebastian has been working hard on a number of things lately. He's doing well with banging two toys together, picking up objects, feeding himself puffs and baby mum mums, sitting by himself and becoming more and more mobile. He isn't really crawling yet, but he is moving around quite a bit. Here is a short video of his mobile talents and his favorite playing noises.
